Introduction

In plain languageAn ICANN policy that requires disclosing the expiry notices for generic domains, their fees and the recovery steps; for .sy we remind you a month ahead, and NAITS’s conditions give it a month’s grace after expiry.

The Expired Registration Recovery Policy (ERRP) adopted by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) took effect on August 31, 2013. It requires that domain holders and customers be informed about expiry notices, fees and recovery procedures. This document sets out how Illevante Internet Services LLC applies this policy to the generic top-level domains (gTLDs) it offers, such as .com, .net, .org and .info.

This policy does not apply to the Syrian national domain .sy and its extensions (such as .com.sy), which are governed by the general conditions for registering domain names under the Syrian top-level domain issued by NAITS, the Syrian authority responsible for the domain: as an accredited registrar, we must tell you when your domain is due for renewal at least one month ahead and through more than one channel; if the registration term ends without renewal, NAITS suspends the name without releasing it and gives you one month to pay the renewal fee, after which it is reactivated in your name, or else it is cancelled for good and becomes available to others.

Nor does it apply to other country-code domains (ccTLDs), such as .co and .me, which follow their own registries’ rules. For any question about them, write to us.

1. Fees and procedures

In plain languageWe remind you by email 31 days and 8 days before expiry and 3 days after it; from the tenth day your domain may be auctioned, and redeeming it costs $200.

1. Illevante Internet Services LLC handles this requirement automatically by sending an email notice to the email address of the account registrant 31 days before the expiry date, 8 days before the expiry date, and 3 days after the expiry date.

2. Renewal fees and post-expiry fees are the same as registration fees. Please check our price list at: https://illevante.sy/domain-pricing.

3. Unless specifically stated otherwise in this policy or in our terms of service, a redemption fee of US$200 applies to each generic top-level domain (gTLD) offered by Illevante Internet Services LLC.

4. For at least the last eight consecutive days (after expiry), we will stop the current Domain Name System (DNS) resolution, as a reminder that the domain name has expired and that the registrant (RAE) must renew it. During this period of eight consecutive days, you can renew it at no additional cost.

5. On the tenth day after expiry, we may add the expired domain name to an auction run by an accredited auction provider in this field. Once the domain name is successfully sold at auction to a third party, we will transfer the domain name registration to it, and that third party will control the domain name service. We are not obliged to contact you to alert you that the domain name registration services are being or have been offered at auction, nor are we obliged to pay any of the proceeds we may earn as a result of this auction.

6. From the eleventh day after the expiry date, you acknowledge and agree that we may offer this process, which is called the “renewal grace period”, but we are not obliged to do so. You acknowledge that you bear all risks and consequences if you wait until close to or after the end of the original term of the domain name registration services to try to renew them. You also acknowledge that we may, for any reason and at our absolute discretion, choose not to offer a renewal grace period, and that we will bear no liability as a result.

7. If the gTLD Registry offers a 30-day “redemption grace period” (RGP) immediately following the deletion of the registration, Illevante Internet Services LLC allows the registrant at expiration (RAE) to redeem it. In this case, the redemption fee will be charged in addition to a renewal fee for one year.

2. Fee schedule
