Sustainability and digital responsibility: Better together
Join us in reshaping tomorrow: we don’t wait for the future, we build it with you. With your ambitious vision and our cloud technology, we turn digital challenges into opportunities for growth and innovation.
We build capacity to make your digital services more sustainable
Our eco-friendly servers (Green Power Servers) are designed to run on renewable energy, so your business carries a sustainable character that is responsible toward the planet.
Energy from the sun and wind
We rely on renewable energy in our data centers, and our upcoming center in Syria will run on hybrid power. That commitment passes on to you: every website, database and application you host with us is automatically eco-friendly.
Sensible green policies
We limit waste and encourage recycling, and remote work is a core part of who we are, for a healthy balance between work and life.
Energy efficiency
An energy-saving infrastructure, with low-consumption servers and virtualization technology, alongside renewable energy.
Green energy for a greener world
Servers that shrink the carbon footprint, and save on costs too
Green power servers are growing in popularity as companies seek to reduce their carbon footprint: they cut the greenhouse gas emissions that come with traditional servers, which usually rely on coal or natural gas.
With renewable energy, there is less carbon dioxide and fewer pollutants in the atmosphere, and costs fall over the long term: an essential step toward a more sustainable tech sector.

A price that doesn’t show on screen: data centers running on coal and gas
Every page opened and every message sent passes through servers running day and night. And when their electricity comes from coal and gas, the air we breathe and the water we drink pay the price. These figures, from scientific and official sources, measure that price in terms we all know: cars, trees and drinking water.
Since you opened this page, the world’s data centers have released and consumed:
0tonnes
of carbon dioxide, into the air we all share
0liters
of water, to cool their servers and generate their electricity
0MWh
of electricity generated for them by coal and gas
At the annual rates of the latest estimates: 180 million tonnes of carbon dioxide (International Energy Agency), 560 billion liters of water (de Vries-Gao study, 2025), and 485 terawatt-hours of electricity in 2025, more than half of it from coal and gas (30% and 26% in 2024).
One data center, and what it leaves behind
A center’s size, its power source and how long it runs determine what it leaves in the air and water, from carbon dioxide to gases that harm the lungs, along with what the same center would leave if it ran on renewable energy.
Carbon dioxide (CO2)
The main gas behind global warming and climate change
177,057tonnes
What 41,272 passenger cars release in a full year
Each icon = 2,000 cars
What 3 million trees absorb in a full year
Each icon = 200,000 trees
The same center on renewable energy: nothing from the smokestacks
Sulfur dioxide (SO2)
Irritates the respiratory system and contributes to acid rain
145tonnes
The same center on renewable energy: nothing from the smokestacks
Nitrogen oxides (NOx)
Harm the lungs, and form smog and ground-level ozone
106tonnes
The same center on renewable energy: nothing from the smokestacks
Water consumed
Evaporated by the power plant’s cooling towers, and used by the center to cool its servers
497.1millionliters
Enough drinking water for 256,974 people for a full year
Each icon = 20,000 people
The same center on renewable energy: 58.7 million liters
Electricity
What the center draws from the grid, for its servers and their cooling

177,057 tonnes of carbon dioxide, what 41,272 cars release in a year
Does your website run on green hosting? The Green Web Foundation’s tool tells you from its address.
An estimate from published averages: smokestack emissions of US coal and gas power plants in 2023 (EPA eGRID2023), the water of their cooling towers (NREL), the average data center overhead above what its servers need, PUE 1.52 (Uptime Institute 2026), and its cooling water, 0.36 liters per kilowatt-hour (LBNL 2024). The tree is an urban tree in its first ten years, the home uses the average US home’s 12,194 kilowatt-hours a year (EPA), and drinking water is the minimum the World Health Organization recommends: 5.3 liters per person a day. Actual figures vary from one plant to another.
Where do data centers stand among the largest sources of emissions?
million tonnes of carbon dioxide a year
The world’s data centers180
Data centers in 2030 (forecast)320
All of Egypt258
All of Kuwait130
International shipping623
International aviation569
Data centers today release more than all of Kuwait, and nearly six times as much as Syria (31.8 million tonnes), and by 2030 they will release more than Egypt does today. They account for about 0.5% of the world’s energy emissions (38.4 billion tonnes in 2025).
5.13million deaths
a year worldwide, which researchers estimate are caused by air pollution from burning fossil fuels.
That is one death about every 6 seconds, avoidable by phasing out fossil fuels (BMJ, the British Medical Journal, 2023).
Nature is our first teacher: it taught us how a small seed becomes a sprawling tree. Out of gratitude to it, we plant a tree in the ground for every new client who joins our family: our way of saying “thank you” to you and to the environment.
Trees planted in this grove
31
For every new client who puts their trust in us, we plant a tree in the heart of the earth.
Every tree we plant is a new lung for our cities to breathe with, and a step toward healthier lives and a more beautiful place to live. We invite you to start your digital journey with us: not just to build a cloud, but to plant together a tomorrow where progress and the environment go hand in hand.
Using green energy
Efficient consumption, and a protected planet
Green energy isn’t just eco-friendly; it’s a tool for using less: less reliance on fossil fuels, less waste, and a smarter, cleaner use of energy.
01
Less reliance on fossil fuels
A clean, renewable alternative to a limited resource that drives climate change, so we use less energy overall.
02
Lower energy costs
The initial installation cost may be higher, but the long-term savings are large; and solar power can generate extra income by exporting the surplus to the grid (Net Metering).
03
More efficient energy use
Sun and wind are decentralized sources used where the energy is consumed, which reduces the need to carry power over long distances.
Green hosting
Your websites on eco-friendly servers that pass green web tests
The web hosting industry has a large impact on climate change through its huge energy consumption, but it can reduce that impact with renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainable practices. With Illevante, your websites pass the rigorous sustainability tests of the Green Web Foundation.
Renewable energy in our data centers, and hybrid power at the upcoming Syria center
Low-consumption servers and virtualization
Less waste, and encouragement to recycle
Remote work that cuts daily commuting
