Overview

What is .careers

The word careers means working paths, and it’s the word companies usually put on the jobs page of their sites, so job seekers understand it without explaining. .careers entered the internet’s root in 2013 as a new generic extension; it is run by Binky Moon, LLC and supports names in Arabic and DNSSEC signing.

It suits company hiring pages, recruitment offices, job-opportunity platforms and career guidance centers at universities. It helps most the company that wants a separate hiring address showing its openings: its name with .careers, beside its main site in .com or .sy.

We have a first-year offer, and renewal costs a little more, but it’s much more expensive than .com. Many people know it less well than .com, and some job seekers are wary of hiring links whose source they don’t know, so have your main site point to it.

Who it suits

For your field: is .careers the best fit?

Every field has an extension that says something about it. Here is what .careers says in each, and which extension completes it.

  • A company’s hiring page

    Excellent · The first choice

Your company’s name with .careers is a separate hiring address that completes its site in .com.

    Register it with.careers.com

  • A recruitment office in Syria

Good · A good fit with .sy

Job seekers here trust .sy, and .careers says what you offer.

    Register it with.sy.careers

  • A job-opportunity platform

    Good · A good fit

It says the site is for jobs, and .com.sy says it works here.

    Register it with.careers.com.sy

  • Career guidance

    Good · A good fit

For those who help people choose their path it states the field, and .coach says you’re a guide.

    Register it with.careers.coach

  • Training before hiring

    Good · A good fit

It says training is a road to work, and .academy says it’s teaching.

    Register it with.careers.academy

  • A personal CV

    Consider another · Consider .me

Visitors expect jobs on offer while you offer yourself; .me or .name.sy is more honest.

    Register it with.me.name.sy

What it does for you

What you gain when you register it

  • Hiring in the address

Job seekers know from the link they’ve reached the jobs, not the store.

  • A separate page for your team

A hiring address apart from your sales site, telling about your team and how it works.

  • Email for applications

jobs@wazaef-manbij.careers tells every applicant their application reached the right place.

  • A link applicants can trust

An address in your company’s name says the posting is yours, not an impostor’s.

And where its value shows

In job ads

One link for every opening.

At job fairs

An address applicants remember from the first meeting.

At universities

Where graduates look for their first job.

Its source known before it’s opened.

  • $70 for the first year with an offer, then $84 for each renewal. Look at the renewal price before you register: it’s what you’ll pay every year after the first.

  • Anyone, person or organization, from any country, with no documents or conditions; the contact details in the owner’s name just need to be accurate.

  • Yes, once 60 days have passed since it was registered or last transferred. Ask your current provider for the transfer (EPP) code and open a transfer request with us; a full year is added to the domain’s term.

  • We remind you by email 31 days and 8 days before expiry, and 3 days after it. After expiry the website and email stop, and you can renew in the first eight days at the regular renewal price; from day 10 it may go to auction. If it is deleted and the registry allows redemption within 30 days, the redemption fee is $200 plus a year’s renewal.

  • Yes. The body responsible for .careers has an Arabic table in IANA’s repository of internationalized names (IDN), so the name is written in Arabic and stored in a form that begins with xn--.
