Overview
What is .coffee
.coffee comes from the English word coffee. It speaks to cafés, coffee roasters and bean shops, to those who teach or write about making coffee, and to those who sell its tools, from the pot to the cup. It was added to the internet’s root in 2013, and IANA’s record names Binky Moon, LLC as the body responsible for it.
A word people know everywhere, so your customers need no explaining to understand what you sell. It supports names in Arabic, so a roastery can register its name in its own letters, and it supports DNSSEC signing too.
We have an offer for its first year, and renewal costs more. It says “coffee” and nothing else: if your menu grows to food and desserts it may feel tight, and it is less familiar than .com to some customers, so put your known name before the dot.
