Overview

What is .institute

The word institute means an organized body for teaching, training or research, built on set programs rather than a single lesson. .institute entered the internet’s root in 2013 as a new generic extension; it is run by Binky Moon, LLC and supports names in Arabic and DNSSEC signing.

It suits language institutes, vocational and technical institutes, exam-preparation institutes and research and study centers. Visitors read it as the name of an established body with premises, programs and teachers, so it suits an institution better than a single teacher working alone at home or online, however skilled in the subject.

We have a first-year offer, and renewal costs more, but it remains among the lowest prices of our education extensions. Many people misspell the word, and many know it less well than .com, so register with it a name in .sy that’s easy to say for your students here and leads to it.

An institute suggests an institution with premises, and a lone teacher is clearer by name with .teacher.sy.

    Register it with.teacher.sy.me

  • An online store

    Consider another · Consider .store

An institute promises programs and teaching while a store sells; a trade extension is more honest.

Tips

Before you register

  1. 1The kind of institute before the extensionLanguages, a trade or research: the word before the extension says what kind of institute you are.
  2. 2Make .sy the address you say aloudFor your students here, say your name in .sy and point it to your .institute site.
  3. 3A short name, read as it’s writtenIf it needs spelling out on the phone, it’s too long or too complicated.

  5. 5Renew automatically, or register for yearsUp to 10 years at once, so you never miss a date.
  6. 6Make sure the name isn’t someone else’s trademarkA registered trademark’s owner can recover the name from whoever registered it first.
